Yes, I am an addict of opioids, but I'm newly clean. I've been told repeatedly by people that can't do anything about it that I have ADHD (therapists, retired pdocs, observant friends/family, etc. I get the "Do you have ADHD?" "No" "I think you do" convo a lot).
I was put on a wait list for neuropsych testing but it's years long. Today I was talking to a pdoc (not mine) who said I should just try a stimulant as long as my bipolar is stable, and if my symptoms get better that's all the proof I need. No need to wait three years for an evaluation. I talk to my NP tomorrow, do I just straight up ask "hey can I try an ADHD med?" It's also the last time I talk to her because they're switching me to a psychiatrist. Should I wait to see the psychiatrist? Idk how to go about this. __________________ Live life for nothing but that sweet sweet melody. |

I’d wait to see the pdoc and also stay on the bipolar meds.

I'd probably wait for the psychiatrist as well. My psychiatrist prescribes me Vyvanse for ADHD even though I have Schizoaffective and it can make the psychosis symptoms worse but we work with it. Best of luck, Kit
