Some people know that I have been diagnosed with ADD and don't have much support from family. We just got involved in a new church but it's huge and a bit overwhelming. Anyway I was wondering if anyone live in North East Pa, and would like to kinda be a support buddy? The reason I ask is the last time I saw my therapyst he suggest getting involved in a support group well there isn't one where i live. I have checked. I checked with the hospital, CPS, United Way, Churches in and around our area, you name it I have called. My DH and I thought that if I could get together with someone that knew what I was going through maybe it would help. I can't afford coaching because money is tight that is why I am wondering if some one in my area would like to chit/chat back and forth. Thanks, it would help.

I'm sorry I don't live anywhere near you. But talk all you want here. It's a really great group.

I'm in a similar situation... lots to work on, can't afford coaching, and no support groups nearby. Maybe we can all kind of function as an online support group?

I think that's common. People always think of children when it comes to ADHD, but the majority of children with ADHD grow into ADHD adults.
Online support is probably the best option for most people. Coaches, IF they are effective at all (probably depends on the coach), are usually expensive and most areas don't have one. They aren't covered by insurance like most psychologists/therapists are either.

If we get more meaningful contributions here, we can all be our own support group.

I've kept an eye out for ADHD groups in NEPA, I haven't seen any groups. I guess for me it is really just wishful thinking anyway. My family would freak if I tried to fit another thing into my schedule anyway.
