Well I ended up taking my son to ER. The doctor was so good with him. It took 4 tries at an IV. I did not realize how dehydrated he was. They gave him fluids, maxeran (?), and demerol.

He had a fever of 38.7, pulse rate at 114, blood pressure 129 over 82. They did some blood tests and showed a high white count. The doctor said if he is still like this tomorrow to bring him back to ER. He said to monitor his fever. When leaving his fever was at 38.3. So they said to continue with gravol, advil migraine, and tylenol. I was shocked that I could give him all of this at once. They said its not a problem as a short term use. Never more than 2 weeks. So he is laying down now.

Crossing my fingers that he will feel better in the am. Doctor said if this continues or he shows any major neck pain--have to do a spinal to make sure its no more than the flu. He said with this wheather change, the migraine makes sense.

Justy? A "fever" of 36?? To me, it's almost freezing! Ok, I admit. Just got back from ER I don't know where you live. Just got back from ER How do you convert that to Farenheit? Would that be 102F+? I'm guessing it's higher if the doc told you to watch for neck pain.

Hun, my prayers are with you and your son.

Sorry Sept, I know you addressed this to Justy, but I just thought I would chip in, lol. Just got back from ER

A fever of 38C is 100F, and I'm guessing that the docs advised Justy to look out for neck pain in case it turns out to be meningitis, and not flu.

Justy... I hope it all goes ok with your boy and that he feels better soon. And please look out for your own health too! I'm expecting updates lol Just got back from ER.

Thanks silver, I am not sure how to convert to farenhiet.

Well in the morning yesterday he seemed some what better. But as the day went on he just kept looking like crud. I have been watching his temp but it keeps climbing. I took his temp about an hour ago and it was almost at 39. I gave him a bath, and some tylenol and his temp dropped to 38. I called the doctor's office and we are taking him in shortly. My daughter is getting herself ready, then we will go. My son had a terrible night. His throat hurts big time and his headaches will not quit. He said his neck does not hurt but I am really worried with this temp. He ended up with a bloody nose through the night as well. I have never seen my son this sick either than his migraines. He has never been ill for more than a couple of days. I feel for him, he is rough. I will let u know how it goes when we get back.

Thanks (((September and Silver))).

((((((((((((((((((( justy and son ))))))))))))))))))))))

i so hope your son feels better soon. i hope they can manage his pain and that fever! please keep us informed. you are all in my thoughts and prayers. there's no more hopeless a feeling than that of a sick child, and we can't make it "all better".

silver, you are the smart one! yes, my guess is that the doctor is having the watch for neck pain which would be indicative of meningitis. flu's can bring about horrible migraines as well as fevers can and visa versa.

i hope all is well and we're thinking of and praying for you until we get your next post...

yes, how is it going now?

(I learned to convert that stuff with using the # 15. Depending upon which way you're going double the C # and add 15 or subtract 15 and divide in half??? It's perfect only around 70 F?)

Hey everyone. Sorry but this was the first chance I have had to come on.

Well I took both of my kids to the doctor. The doctor was furious at the hospital. He had the report from them and was so angry that the doctor did not give him an antibotic. He said he white blood count was extremely high and nutri-fills were out. (not sure if I spelled that right). He looked at my son's throat and said its a mess. He also has a nasal infection which explains the migraines. So of course all of this caused the fevers.

My daughter also has a throat infection. As does my bf. He also has an infection in his finger (AND ITS GROSS). He had injured it a few weeks ago and it turned green. I hauled him with us to the doc. So everyone has an anitbotic. If there is no change in my bf's finger in four days we have to go the ER and get some x-rays done. He is worried that it has gone into the bone. I have never seen a green finger before; lolololol.

So the kids are starting to feel better which is great. No more fevers. HURRAY. Unfortuntely we can't go to see my family for Christmas. I told the doctor of our plans and he said, "Someone with cancer could easily become ill and could be fatal. So we don't want grandma in the hospital."

He is right so we are going to be home this year. Which is okay. The kids were upset at first but we made some special plans for them, as long as they are feeling up to it. (I will tell u after the holidays; lolol). So all in all--things are okay.

Thanks sooooo very much for all of the concern. I appreciate this. I will let u know how things go. And wishing you all a wonderful holiday!!!

Love,
Justy

Yay, I'm glad things are going better and you finally know what is going on with your son. I wish you all a merry Christmas, and I hope your son feels better soon!

We took the kids to a hotel with a hot tub right in our room. Well half of the water ended up on the floor. My kids figured it was a pool; lolol.

Actually there was also a swimming pool in the hotel which they had fun in. They were the only ones in the pool so they had it all to themselves. It was soooo cold so I watched; lolol. But then again I got nailed several times with water. Was nice to see them have fun. My daughter took in a little too much water though and threw up when we got back to the room. But felt better after. The goof balls kept jumping in as hard as they could--wanted to see who could make the biggest splash and wet mom.

The hotel was soo nice. It had a fireplace as well. But we kind of had it a little hot in there. My son brought his new remote control car with and kept crashing into everything. Don't think I will ever let the bugger drive, he is a crazy boy with the "wheel"; lolol.

So the kids are feeling so much better. My daughter is at a sleep over and my son crawled into bed with me last night. He had another headache last night so he is still asleep. I checked on him about 20mins ago and his butt is sticking up in the air. He looks too funny. At least he is sleeping good.

So anyway, thanks for all the warm wishes. Sucks to be sick but at least they did enjoy the holiday and are almost up to par.

Justy
