I don't have an official diagnosis of ADHD, just a lot of online quizzes and that it makes sense. I am leary of even trying for a diagnosis, as it seems difficult to find the right practitioner to do that. My first husband was so ADHD it oozed from every pore and should have been obvious, but a neuropsychiatrist told him he didn't have it. It was several years later before he got the ADHD diagnosis and got appropriate help. The other reason I don't know if I want to go to the trouble is that I've developed ways to manage over the years, and the SSRI I'm on for depression seems to help with my temper/irritability, so I don't really know if an official diagnosis would be worth the trouble. I really would just like to understand a bit more about it. I've spent years dealing with depression, and I think I've learned a lot about managing ADHD in the process, just because I've learned to accept myself and be less critical and work with my abilities. My biggest problem is boredom at work, which I deal with by eating, and I really should lose some weight. There are many other smaller problems that seem to tie in to ADHD, but that is the one that stands out right now.
