This is for anyone to answer. My son is 12 and we are going to homeschool him this year because he gets attacked at school by bullies.
Anyway, my question is, what is the best way to get him out and socializing? He doesn't like sports, he is a computer wiz, he loves video games and enjoys swinging at the park. What other things might we do with him to get him out into the "real" world?

I went online and found an ASD parent support group. They have game nights and outings set up for the kids and their siblings. You might check it out see if there's anything like that in your area.

Ive always found that most church youth groups are fairly open to all types of kids. Take him a popular park as much as possible. Maybe contact an agency to find him a mentor. Im a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters and so I would definately recommend them. They do one on one activities and group activities also.

My daughter's friend homeschooled her children and when she did there was a whole organization out there for moms and kids that were homeschooled. You might have one in your area. They get together and do all sorts of things.
