Can intimacy issues, combined an expressive language diorder and dysthimia (melancholy) look like high functioning autism?

Or ...

Can neglect plus embryonic dioxin toxicty cause HFA?

Or ...

Could I be dealing with both?

Confused .... how do you know for sure?

I think the person to answer these hard questions would be a professional--such as a psychiatrist. Plus you might need some testing to tease these disorders out. I can tell you're really thinking--which is good--and you will have some relief when you can get some answers from folks who are experts. That's my take on it anyway.

It was debated for a bit among several psychotherapist but, they decided the issues are the same, regardless of the label, and have settled on what the neuro-psych eval came up with and added to it a diagnosis of mental illness nos due to dioxin toxicity ... the assumptions are that the "treatment and support" is the same. But I hate things that are so undefined

Therapists usually dislike labels. To get properly diagnosed with autism you don't go see a doc and they guess. You do a proper test that has several parts, structured interviews and so on.
Thanks for this!
