I like watching water drip, flames dance, etc. I can do it for minutes at a time. Nothing weird or disturbing about that, right?
Well.
I hate spiders. I hate the way they look, and the way they move. But when I see one, I don't flatten' 'em, and not because I'm afraid to go near them.
It's because I'm too dang busy watching the things.

How backward is that? I don't like the way they move, yet it fascinates me, especially when they move slowly. First one leg, then another. Sometimes groping for a foothold, others just walking... *shudder*

Does anyone else have an aversion to something that fascinates them?

I can sort of understand. I hate snakes, but I might watch them on TV--seeing how they move, etc.
