My daughter has autism. She hasn't been officially diagnosed, but I'm 99.99% sure she has it! No dr. Wants to diagnose her, one said probable autism, one said pddnos, one said severe ADHD! She also has borderline intellectual functioning, (mental retardation)(iq is 72) she was 3 months premature and had brain bleeds. I was diagnosed about a year or 2 ago with predominantly inattentive ADHD. I'm 35 years old. Studying and learning about autism and Aspergers, I noticed a lot of traits that I have! Most of them are social. I have never really had friends,a lot of times I just don't know what to say to people! Sometimes I guess I don't understand people's facial expressions, it takes me a little bit to get some jokes, I don't always get what people say! I don't really do typical things that aspies do, I don't take things literal, I don't have to stick to a schedule, I don't fixate on things, repeat things, etc. I took the test on here for autism and I got a score of 35, 34 and above, it says autism likely! Like I said, it's all Social. I don't know if its just the ADHD, aspergers, or both! I do know for a fact that i have adhd, I have sooo many symptoms and was actually diagnosed. Also, I read on another forum that the 2 are opposites, but I don't get how that is! Any thoughts?

I think the only definitive way to sort this out is to see a neuropsychologist. These folks specialize in Autism/Asperger's and can do in-depth testing. The online quizzes can raise red flags but should not be considered definitive.

It's possible. There is some evidence to suggest a genetic link. I agree with Yellowfrog. Ask a professional, maybe the people looking into you daughter can refer you.
