Yes, you guessed it by my username. I am a man with no friends and I wish for it to remain that way. Trying to maintain a friendship is too much of a chore for most people with ASDs (including myself). So now, having accepted that I don't need a friend, I have never looked back on it. I am not sad, angry or depressed - just wanted to get it off my head.
(Of course, you can argue that this thread is completely and utterly pointless, and that you don't care...)

Hi
![]() In my opinion it's not important neither to have or not to have friends - the important thing is to be happy with it. If you have friends and like it, good. If you don't and like it, good. But if you don't like it, bad! So good for you! ![]() Cheers, Allie Lifelies

Personally if people will be my friend then so be it but I really don't mind being alone as I'll just read while people are wondering why I just don't care...

Glad you found what works for you. I go through spells where I won't friends and when I don't want to be around anyone. It would be better if I could settle one just one.

I only have a few friends. Most of my time is spent alone. Part of me is not happy with it, but part of me accepts it.

Sometimes I feel sad about it but should you be sad about discrimination?

I don't mind being alone and not having many friends. It bothered me a lot when I was an adolescent. Now I'm older and have accepted I will never have lots of friends and be charismatic. Anyway it isn't who I am.

I only have a few close friends and I don't see any of them often. It doesn't really bother me though. Sometimes I'm in the mood to see them but most of the time I enjoy my own company more as there is no pressure to say or do the right thing or to make sure I look interested or that my smile is the right way or that my eyes are paying attention etc. Swings and roundabouts.
