Anybody read Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's, written by John Elder Robinson? I'm wondering if you found it useful and a good book for people to read to understand Asperger's. Thanks!

Payne, I have not read the book but I did read a review about it and it was positive. If I am considering a new book I will scan the index and preview bits of the chapters before I commit to reading it. I hope it helps you out if you decide to read it--books have been invaluable to my recovery.

DePressMe, I have already read it myself and thought it was good. I am not an Aspie, though--and am hoping to see if it will be good to recommend to others as a way of understanding. It did break some stereotypes, which is very important. My sons have been friends with two boys with Asperger's, so I got to know them pretty well. And I have been a friend of someone here at one point with that diagnosis.

I haven't read it yet, but I do plan to. I've been following a blog written by a fellow Aspie for the last few months and she highly recommended that book, among others.

I'm currently reading a book called Asperger Love written by Amy Harmon, which is based on a true relationship between two people with Aspergers. I'm enjoying that so far, it gives a very good insight to some of the troubles people on the spectrum face in relationships, made more difficult by both of them being on the spectrum.

I have not since I was in a somewhat personal conflict with John. If I ever feel less teed off at him I might read it.

I believe that you can find some blogs by John Elder Robinson on Psychology Today's website. Might help you to discover more about the writer in deciding whether to buy the book or not.
