My 5 yr old is autistic along w ADHD. He is mildly autistic.
He and I have a wonderful bond, but he is quite the handful
He has ruined my apt. we have 1 working tv left... oh, and
some furniture., no joke . He destroys everything he owns
and I own. I have gone thru countless sets of blinds, lamps,
toys... everything. He BREAKS everything, and he KNOWS he
does it. Anyone else gone thru this??

...you have to punish him. If that does not act as a deterrent, you need to know why he does it. If his answer is "for fun" or "because I like to", you're going to have to make do without a TV, lamps or sets of blinds. And put your son through it too. That's the only way he'll learn not to break stuff. Am I right?

Too little info to be able to give a real answer. Sorry. It would help to know why he does it and how and all those things.

Hmmm well it sounds like perhaps he needs another outlet. Does he destroy things when angry/upset or does it seem to be more something he does to entertain himself?

My son has PDD. When he was little I gave him a shovel and by mistake told him if he dug he would hit china. It kept him busy.
Good luck to you. I know its hard.
