I have asberger syndrome and I have known about it my entire life. For some reason I find life to be very pointless and have no motivation. Every girl I seem to meet I mess it up because my obsessive side comes out and I get paranoid 24/7. I can swing from one mood to the other and have comtemplated sucide for years now. My mum does not understand me I feel like no one does, when I was younger she used to have an abusive boyfriend. Me and my sister's had to watch her get beat. Theirs so much more I could tell you but I don't know how to structure a question properly.

Hi and welcome to Psych Central! Is it possible you might have some other issue besides Asperger's? I suggest you talk to your mom about taking you to your regular doctor, so you can tell about the mood swings, and depression especially.

Is there anyone you can talk to, such as a therapist? I know folks can learn to work with their asperger's at least to some extent.

I am wondering how old you are. Anywhere near 18 yet?

Never say that, Never give up on who you are. I realized that I couldn't control my Asperger's Syndrome long ago but I came to accept it.

Unless you were formally diagnosed and have other symptoms you aren't mentioning on here, I don't think this is Asperger's. It sounds like a mental illness of some kind which may be correctable. I can be kind of similar in some ways, except for the suicidal thinking. I don't think the things you described are from AS though

People with aspergers can have mental illness on top of it, and going on about obsessions is a fairly well known trait I thought...also some people with it have executive functioning difficulties which can effect motivation or ones ability to get started on things.

If one symptom is severe enough or actually does not go in line with AS (like paranoia and mood swings), it usually gets diagnosed separately.

I am diagnosed with AS AND depression and anxiety.

You sound like a teenager, and a lot of the "issues" teenagers have during this delicate phase of their life can look like major psychiatric disorders. Ask yourself this question, have you ALWAYS been this way?. Were you able to make friends in your younger years? Asperger is not something you develop later in life. You are kinda born with it.

By all means, you should go see a psychiatrist and get an opinion, if you feel things are getting out of control.

I experience the same feelings you do. I also have Asperger's Syndrome and am at a point in my life where I don't feel like doing anything anymore. I have no goals or ambitions or the motivation to create or find any. It's like an empty, dead life. I wished for a long time now that I can just die and be done with. This is just torture to live this way . I don't know for how much longer I can do this. I also am completely void of all emotions, except a sad/depressed feeling of disappointment in myself. I feel nothing else except this one feeling.

When you become an adult with Asperger's you can go into depression. That's what happened to me. It's just the constant rejection and failure to fit in with others that leads to it eventually.

Hello and good evening Steve223. I'm so sad and sorry to have read your message mentioning how unhappy you are. Hunny it sounds like depression to me because as someone else said, it's possible to suffer more than one malady at a time. I understand that Asp. is difficult enough to suffer from but there sounds to be other things going on here. You def need to talk again with a therapist or health care professional, it's unacceptable and painful to you to try and deal with this alone. However, PC is a great place for you to share your issues, both good and bad. I'd also like to give you a warm

WELCOME TO PC

Have a look around the different forums because there's so many places to check out, you'll find some just for you. XXXXXXXXX
