I've came across the following articles in which NTs are being ridiculed. The second one is fairly average, but the first is pure gold. No offense to any NT reading them, I just thought they're funny.

Poor NT Sufferers! ;o) : I Have Asperger's Syndrome Story & Experience
Neurotypical Personality Disorder : I Have Asperger's Syndrome Story & Experience
Thanks for this!

I like the use of the "standard psychology webpage" format in the second one. Thanks for posting this. I don't really like the "NT bashing" thing either, but these are just funny.

I don't see it as bashing so much as illustrating that 'abnormal' psychology is dependent on what is defined as 'normal'.

I agree that there is no bashing going on and it is a good satire.

I was going out of my way to refer to how sometimes ASD forums have NT-bashing posts. I know those posts are out of (perfectly reasonable) frustration with having to live in the NT world, but sometimes it gets hateful towards all NT's like grouping them all together as evil in a dehumanizing/same-thought-process-as-racism type of way. And I appreciated that OP took the opposite point of view with his "no offense" comment.

It was a stupid to bring up in my post because it wasn't very relevant. I was going too far out of my way to reference something that wasn't very relevant but that the post made me think of.

Even though I am over-explaining and making this thread much less funny with each word I type - still very funny links!!
Thanks for this!

You don't make it less funny at all, I'd day your comments are making this more interesting than it already is!

I appreciate it man... but I get carried away making a point sometimes.

I think what I'm referring too happens more on wrongplanet if you're familiar, but maybe I am blowing it out of proportion. I can understand the perspective so I can't be too critical of it... it's like a reverse discrimination thing where aspies have been beaten down by the NT majority so they lash out at NTs and declare them all categorically stupid/evil/worthless/etc by saying things like "stupid NTs" and "NT ignorance" and so forth. I don't like the mentality of the majority of humans either but sometimes it just gets hateful like everyone who isn't ASD is a piece of **** which I don't like. I only think 60-80% of humans are shallow, selfish pieces of **** so I think NTs deserve just a bit more leeway

I hope those fashionable new shoes are working out for you man, haha. After I responded to that post your user name inspired me to listen to Joy Division's albums a few times because I hadn't in a while so thanks for that!

Yeah, I'm a regular wrongplanet reader! I tend to get pretty judgmental even with Aspies, like when I see one who likes crappy music, for example. I know I shouldn't, but what can I do since all my life I've been sort of an "elitist"? Nevertheless, an Aspie with crappy music taste is way better than a NT with crappy music taste

Well, I haven't wore those shoes yet ;D I'm glad I made you do it! I'm listening to them everyday, Unknown Pleasures is always the last thing I hear before turning off the PC!

VERY interesting posts. Hit me right in the solar plexus (whatever that is). I've actually never heard of "NT"s before, but the two articles make a good point, however. In a sarcastic, funny way, they showed that there no real such thing as a personality "illness," huh? The reason I connected so much with the articles is because they explained exactly what my thoughts were about my sisters when I was growing up.

My sisters would bend over backwards to fit in, even happily changing whatever it was they liked or believed just to seem more like the other person they thought was most popular. I was stone-hard set in my beliefs, so I always complained to adults that they had no strength of personality. Maybe it was anger because they rejected me as "uncool," but I don't think so. When adults laughed about my complaints, I always felt better and didn't think it was such a problem. Did I like my sisters any less for the way they acted? Not at all! I still loved 'em, problems and all. It's just something I thought was "weird" about them. Now I realize that they didn't have a "problem." They were just different.

I'm not diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, but I've never been checked either. I can read people's emotions very well, but I'm flat-out terrible at expressing any. I'm often called, "blank."
Thanks for this!

I never thought of others as being different or weird depending on their personality. Like I said, I judge(d) them based on facts (e.g. how they acted, their musical taste, etc.). I realised that NTs often behave like jerks when they're dealing with a "weirdo" like us; we're always on the list for bullying and other activities inducing them pleasure.

You don't need an official diagnosis, it's just a piece of paper. It can make you feel comfortable with yourself, but that's all. I'm not officially diagnosed either, since I don't have any medical papers, though I have been checked - but I can't be sure it was a full analysis. It's not like we need medication or anything
