I have been working in my job close to a year. I work in the library at a very open mind school.
The art teacher comes in most days and has been hanging around the last few weeks for a quiet place to mark, and we have been conversing during breaks. We started talking about a book I am reading and I am giving her my thoughts on it as I go and today I was describing how the person in the book was figuring out the nuances of communication and I said "This is very interesting to me because I am autistic" and she was really happy and excited to discuss it with me because she "had never had someone tell her from their side what it's really like for them and it is so intriguing" |
