I was originally diagnosed with ADHD as a child, turns out I was because my diagnosis was changed to bipolar. I have never been looked at for this condition according to my mother. I've taken a few of the tested online and they have shown that I might have it. I am very uncomfortable in public, have a really difficult time being able to read others. Social cues are a completely different planet, body language I can't understand. That's just a little of what it's like for me. I am curious how is it diagnosed?

With Aspergers, there are a lot of individuals who self-diagnosis themselves. But if you seek more help and/or support/aides then it has to be official. Let your T know, and see if she is able to test or get more info on you to make that judgement.
If she/he isn't able to, then try to find a specialized pdoc who can. there are resources that can be found here...

Here's another link
How and Where to Obtain a Diagnosis/Assessment in Indiana

Also, self diagnosis just depends on how you feel, and what you need.
Medicaid would require an official diagnosis.

did it say what your numbers were?
I was curious and just did it too lol
My results were:
Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 161 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 30 of 200
You are very likely neurodiverse (Aspie)

If you can, I would save the PDF and print it out, or email it to your therapist, or some way.

A tad warning here. There are many tests online, and Aspie-quiz is one of the more popular. You do need to know though, it lacks a lot in science and the person behind it has some... lets say... peculiar ideas.

I think having the DX tends to lead a lot of people who are first diagnosed with it, into an obsession about it.
But yeah, tests online are somewhat... not up to date with the most recent criteria for the diagnosis. And i'm sure there are some out there really just not accurate at all.
But i think some of them can give great insight to yourself. I wouldn't take the results as 100% accurate in diagnosing though.

with the results of that test, there are some very weak spots, but very strong spots in it, which is something that commonly happens.. if you can, print out your answers to the questions, or maybe copy it all down on a few pieces of paper, and maybe show it to your T?

This specific test is made by someone who does not accept the current view of autism, also he has no education in the area. His take on this is based on the theory spectrum people are genetically different, they are closer to Neanderthals than neurotypicals. This is why the test asks about race. He rejects the idea that Africans can have autism since they lack Neanderthal genes. He is also against race mixing because of that. Also he has a theory around sexuality of spectrum people, and he thinks paraphilias are typical for people with autism and normal, even if other people are victimized. All this is included in the test.
Thanks for this!

i never did that much looking into that particular test other than it being a really long one lol.. seemed pretty right with mine, but i actually know a few african americans who have ASD(not in person, but still.. it does happen). just like how i didnt know down syndrome affected anyone but caucaision (yah i cant spell lol). but in realizing that and then asking around, and finding out that others seemed to think the same, i took my searching to the internet, and i found out that there are some.

but i wonder why this guy who created this test finds it is a good test, when he doesnt have any kind of education on it...
I'll do some looking to see if i still have the link to the page that my T shared with me a few years back. it had like 500 or so questions and was most accurate,.... well... that was before the update in the dsm...

Ask him. I've been in more than one debate with him. He's not very interested in separate facts if they mess with his ideas us spectrum people are more Neanterthal than others. Example, test asks if you have red hair. If you do, the test sees that as a Neanderthal trait since they had red hair. Thing is, both their and human DNA is now mapped out, and it's different genes causing red hair in humans and Neanderthals.

Personally I'm very bothered by the thought of Africans as inferior and things like that.
