Hi. I'm from Chicago and I'm looking for a home (the type of home where autistic or the mentally disabled live) and I have absolutely NO idea in Hades where to look...

More importantly, I don't want half-a**ing workers, no creeps, no Jack the Rippers, or Chester the Molesters, I basically want Grade A, 5 star staff quality--ppl who know what they're doing and are kind.

Any ideas? =]
Thx in advance

I would suggest that you contact the social services department in a local hospital. They know where all the places are and which ones are the good ones. They can also point you in the right direction for financial aid if it is needed.

also if she has medical insurance, you can call them and ask them what grouphomes they cover, and if there are any specialized in the autism spectrum.

private hospitals can help too
