Hi Blinded, are you talking about trying to have a serious conversation? This is my failing, not yours, but I found the first post difficult to understand Could you give context?

I can only imagine how hard it must be to communicate sometimes but please know, lots of us do care and do want to be supportive

Sometimes when people don't understand what is being communicated they try to find some humor in it rather than confront what isn't understood & try to get a better understanding of what someone is really trying to say.

I know one person who has serious communication problems....she will make a comment totally out of context & never finish what she has to say & thinks that you will finish knowing what she means instead of finishing her own communication.

While my H had a totally different issue....he would say something that only he thought was funny in his own mind & he would be the only one laughing at what he said while everyone else was scratching their head trying to figure out what he said in the first place & why it was funny.

Communication is very difficult normally between people....Asperger's just puts a different level of complexity into communicating & trying to express what you really mean by what you say.

Sometimes if many people are reacting to what we say in a way that we don't mean for them to react....we need to look at the way we are expressing ourselves & think about maybe a better way of getting across what we really mean.
