So I am very nervous about posting in here. I was diagnosed with Autism in June and at 30 years old there isn't much help out there. All my doctors are wanting me to do therapy to help with sensory. I finally found a place here that will do Sensory Integration Therapy with me so I may be able to deal more with things in life. I am just so scared of what to expect since I have been doing things my way for so many years. Has anyone had good experience with this?

Sorry, I cannot answer your question.
What is this therapy and how is it supposed to help? __________________ Dx: Didgee Disorder |

I had very good results with this . I saw an occupational therapist who usually works with children but helped me a lot. My sensory problems are just about a non issue. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like more details about this

Would love to know more about this myself... at the ot center I attend, one of the OTs trained up... a sensory room was set up... and then she left for another job before any sensory therapy even began -.-

This website was helpful to me Sensory Processing Disorder Explained | SPD Foundation
The one therapy that helped me the most was Integrated Listening Systems (iLs). the web page for this is Multi-sensory Therapy for Autism, LD, ADHD and SPD - (iLs) it seems goofy, but listening to the special music and doing the exercises helped me a lot. Please let me know if you'd like any more details about this |

(ugh. why does this sound so familiar (?) Someone who says they want to help. Then they leave.... Not specifically for ASD)

I would also recommend neurofeedback. It's costly but very helpful.
