Hey, everyone
I'm wondering if it is common for non-autistic people to stim. I know for a fact that I'm not autistic, but I am aware that I sometimes can do some stimming-like behaviors. For example, when I'm nervous or excited, I clear my throat repetitively, clap my hands, wiggle my fingers, or tap my fingers or foot. Sometimes I impulsively hug people I'm close to without warning. However, wiggling my fingers, clapping my hands, and making high-pitched noises when I'm alone is most common. I'm wondering if anyone else has done these things who have little or no autism. |
