My family is teeming with people on the Autism scale and recently I've been thinking that I might be too. Temple Grandin has always said she feels like "an anthropologist on Mars" and I've always felt the same way, particularly when I'm in groups. I've also always related more easily with men than women and I think this might be because women place more importance on personality than men do--men are more "forgiving" if you are a little odd.

So I took the test here at PsychCentral and came up "possibly Autistic." If I am, it's mild, but it would explain a lot.

Anyway, I would be a proud Aspie. I'm very comfortable with my Aspie family members, and relate easily with people on the scale. To me, this is something neat.

This is interesting. I think some people in my family might have the traits to and I often check myself for symptoms. My family are quick to label me autistic whenever I object to their behavior. I'm glad you have a more positive association with the condition. Is it true that people with aspergers tend to be smarter than average?

I'm officially diagnosed as autistic and am proud. My dad seems to have some traits as well but it's probably not enough for a full diagnosis.

I took the quiz after reading your post and I probably don't have anything on the autism spectrum. I tried a few other and it said I probably have OCD, which I suspected for a few years.
Thanks for this!
