Hi,
I said in a post before that I was officially diagnosed with ASD. Sadly I was going over my report and my full scale IQ was 76. Which is labeled as mild intellectual disability or borderline intellectual disability. I’m am feeling sad about this. Does anyone know if there is a support group for people with mental retardation on the internet? |

Take that number with a grain of salt. IQ tests only test certain types of intelligences, there's many types they don't test. You are probably much brighter than that number.

I sorta agree with the above. But even if you are slightly lower, psychology says that you can grow from that. Meaning, a janitor who never got a good education but believes in himself can work hard and become a doctor. It’s a growth mindset in psychology.

My highest score was 94. My lowest was 76. I usually range in the 80’s. I don’t consider myself a smart person but no one gives me a hard time about it so I don’t pay any attention to my IQ. I agree that IQ doesn’t measure everything. I was reading at a high school level in 6th grade.

An IQ test measures how well you are functioning cognitively when you took the IQ test, nothing more. It does not put a fixed limit on your intelligence. It doesn't measure creativity or artistic talent or your worth as a human being. Don't put too much stock in those tests.
