At one point irl therapy my therapist suggested I go for testing for my autism. But what would that actually do/prove? She suggested neurological testing.

If you’re doing a neuropsychology test they show how you learn. You do a bunch of puzzles, Iq tests etc to see how you think and learn. It can sometimes help indicate autism, but it isn’t exact. Some neuropsych tests also have a psychology component which could help diagnose you. They also take information about your childhood to see for signs of autism. If the results indicate you have autism then you may be able to use the diagnosis to apply for disability benefits, or it could just be helpful info for your therapist to know. But it’s all circumstantial so no guarantees what a neuropsych can do for you.
