thanks for this, *agrees that it's a good idea*

Don't personally struggle but know some who do, hope people find this and gain from it

Thanks DocJohn for creating this forum!

I have a request. The link you provided for information on Asperger's Syndrome defines it as follows:

Quote:
Asperger’s Disorder is a childhood syndrome that is characterized by the following symptoms...
Adults are being diagnosed with AS. Can you provide a definition that includes adults or a separate definition for adults?

Thanks again!

Yes, I would love to learn more about how it shows up in adults......as it was suggested by the psychologist I was seeing last year that this may be part of what is going on with my husband (who I left almost 2 years ago when I moved from California to KY).

He refuses to communicate at all & it seems that his mind is not capable of communicating. He never did bring the ability to communicate into the marriage & I found in college that he was good at answering the instructors questions with smart remarks rather than actually answer the questions.

There are so many things that can go wrong with the mind besides all these things including as we get older, dementia & the beginnings of altzhiemers.....to just blocked arteries to the brain which with less oxygen, cause the minds ability to function much less.

It just got to the point where his lack of & refusing to communicate was becoming abusive beyond what I could deal with. But understanding what is going on won't get us back together, but understanding is important.

I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a stay at home mom with 4 kids and I can't wait to talk with more of you. I have an 11 year old some with Aspergers and it's been very challenging at times.
