Ive never had many friends. Even through high school I have spent more time alone, sitting inside my head, than even communicating with somebody. Ive always tried to do the right thing. Ive never, could never intentionally hurt somebody. Physically or mentally. I do what I can when I can to help anybody and everybody... But then, when i need help, none of my friends are there for me... It always seems they have something better to do, even if that is shopping.... Am I being selfish? Or jealous? I absolutely hate asking for help with anything, it makes me feel weak and useless, but then when I muster up enough courage to ask, I get the same result... I feel like a lost child, scared and alone. I dont know what to do, or what to say. I feel like whatever I do or say, someone is there to bring me down... I dont know...

Two years ago, when my ex and I seperated, I went to a couple sessions... Then my insurance got canceled and I havnt been able to afford it since. I wasnt really confortable at the sessions anyways... I really dont like talking about my troubles and ideas.... I dont really know where else to go for help... Is it so hard to find an unbiosed oppinion? I try to make friends only to be dissappointed by them... For some reason they never live up to the standards I hold them too... Im not sure how much help this website really has to offer me... I think I am losing control of my emotions. Something has to change, I cant feel like this forever.

Would you agree what you are doing is not working? And yes, something has to change. The question becomes, are you willing to listen to someone trained to help you make the changes?

Country Boy, the anonymity of this site might offer you someplace where you can safely open up and get some perspective, since you aren't able to afford counseling.

Byzantine, I dont know what you are trying to say or what you are trying to get me to say... I know things arent working, thats why I was searching for help when I found this site... I would really like to believe that I am capable of change, and I beleive I need someone to point me in the right direction.

No one will measure up to your standards if you are not receptive to what you hear.

What I hear, byzantine, is you trying to act all high and mighty, trying to pretend you know even one thing about me, thats what I hear. i dont appreciate you telling me what you think I do or dont do... If you are going to be negative then dont post anything because i dont need the aggrivation.

Hi Country Boy, I'm sorry to hear you're so frustrated. Keep searching, you'll find the right counsellor and support to get you thru this. I know you're afraid to open up, but if you really want to start overcoming this situation, you have to be willing to share what's going on inside of you with a counsellor. It's not easy, especially the first few attempts, but keep pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone and you'll eventually find it easier to share.
Hope I've helped even a little bit. |
