Since I still have to make an appointment for my first examination-thing I would like to know what a psy will ask you or what I would need to do before I go there, I'm really nervous about it

I was super nervous about going to see mine for the first time too.
I can pretty much say this is what I remember about my first visits: GP - I broke down crying because it was so difficult to say that I wanted to try meds Work-Psychologist - no idea, but he said towards the end that he thought I should look into bipolar - which I already knew. First meet with Pdoc - was already labelled as possibly bipolar, so he asked me questions to see if I fit the criteria. When we got to med-talk I already knew what I wanted and didn't want, and he wanted me to try the same thing that I wanted - he endded up quizzing me on the medication because I'd already done a lot of research. First time alone with T - he hit a trigger about my family. I don't remember anything else. In other words... I have no idea what anyone actually asked or said. I got through the meets enough to get some stuff said, but I was so panicked inside that I have got pretty much NO memory of it. __________________ "The time has come, the Walrus said, to talk of many things. Of shoes, of ships, of sealing wax, of cabbages, of kings! Of why the sea is boiling hot, of whether pigs have wings..." "I have a problem with low self-esteem. Which is really ridiculous when you consider how amazing I am. |
