I always experience them. I feel quite depressive in winter. I need the sun. I'm from one of the hottest cities of Spain but it's an inner área and in winter it's cold. It's a dry cold.

Do you also feel worse in some periods of the year? I mean does the weather have any influence in your mood?
How to combat the lack of sun?

Hello AzulOscuro: Where I live, it can get really hot & humid in the summer & really cold & dry in the winter with lots of snow & ice. Personally I find that my worst time is in the early spring. By then, the last of my energy, from the previous summer, has drained away (as a result of the long cold winter.) So I definitely am affected by the weather.

What is usually recommended for people who aren't able to get enough sun is to take vitamin D. You should check with your doctor before taking this though since it is possible to take too much. Also, if you're on med's it's possible the two could cause an unsafe reaction. There are also special full-spectrum lamps that one can sit in front of. They supposedly help as well, although I have never used one, so I don't know for sure.
Thanks for this!

It's difficult for me to trace because I work the school year - so the warmest time of year is also when I'm not working, and the coldest time of year is smack in the middle of my work -year. I'm triggered more by holidays - my biggest are Christmas (winter) and my birthday (summer). Also I have bipolar.

I haven't really noticed much of a difference even though I am currently living in a sub-arctic climate. So I figure that for me, things aren't so much seasonal.

Hello Azul
I definitely notice a change in my mood this time of year and I do think it has something to do with the sun. November through January are the hardest months for me...the cold gray weather feels appropriate.

Yeah, my mood used to change as well with people, but I think I learnt to keep a relative distance now between others and my emotions.
Anyway, I think there is always an effect unless we were machines.

But, the weather? You're lucky guy! You live in the paradise.

I actually feel better in the winter during cold weather, partly because during the summer most people seem to enjoy activities, vacations, etc, stuff I don't do because I'm afraid to participate in life and I have few friends to do stuff with.

Yeah, I understand you. I used to feel the same. In fact, I only went out at night. It was like day light made moré possible for other people to see my agliness.
