What did they say about it ? When did they find out ? Did they too have some sort of PD ? This includes ex-SOs.

It's quite common for people who know you to ask all kinds of crazy question. Mental problems are not something they are familiar with so they are curious. It's a good way to try to teach people about mental illness so that the old stigmas attached to it will hopefully be put to rest.

I try to be open up people about my problems. But, I never tell them that I have AvPD. I usually tell them that I'm a bit depressive or that I find hard to conect with people bc of my anxiety.
Of course, I got some grade of acceptance in relation to what I am. I used to hide my condition to everybody when I was younger. I was in shame and on the other hand, I didn't want to worry my family. When I met my partner I only told him that I was very sensitive and I sometimes have very low moods because I haven't been diagnosed. Then, I had to explain him my diagnosis but he found very hard to understand it. I think he doesn't understand it yet but he has not way out. ![]() |

HELL NO!!! At least, I don't think so, but she is pretty intuitive so not sure how long I can hide it...
