Two that comes to mind, Good Will hunting with Matt Damon and Robin Williams and one that i cant recommend highly enough is Temple Grandin.

Any suggestions for a good mental health inspired movie??

Thanks Snapp I love Temple Grandin!

Benny and Joon is quirky and sweet one of my favorites.

Melancholia has the right feel of depression.

Beginner's is flat out my favorite movie ever. It is a melancholy beautiful honest little movie based on the writer director's real life. It is kind of about the sadness that we inherit from our parents. It isn't an obvious mental health movie but I think the main character suffers from depression.

A Beautiful Mind
Silver Linings Playbook- really good, really raw. Chris Tucker's character is adorable in this movie.

Reign Over Me

We Need to Talk About Kevin- well made, one of the creepiest movies I have ever seen, socially significant for modern times

Not specifically mental health (or maybe ), but something deep and interesting about (a special) human relationship(s):
Let the right one in (Låt den rätte komma in) 2008, the Swedish original version
(sorry I don't have enough posts to paste an Imdb link in)

(Yes, it has horror-elements and it is creepy sometimes, but it's just not a horror movie and isn't at all about what it seems like and what they did with the US remake.... watch it with original audio and English subtitles)

I could relate so much, I wonder if similar people will feel the same if they see the movie

I guess you watached this movie. It has nothing to do with avoidant personality. The main.characters are narcissist with histrionic traits. "Velmont".
Glass menagerie offers a portrait of a pissible avoidant but it sounds to be more as a person.with soxial anxiety.

Then, in borderline personality disorder I heart about the wouden. But, it's a Spanish movie. Don't think any of you can watch it.

There are many movies but they are far from showing a real portrait of a personality disorder, much less of avoidant disorder. Why? I don't knoe. Perhaps, bc someone who has avoidant PD is faf from giving a show.

I really like "Harvey". It was released in 1950 and stars James Stewart as a nice fellow whose best friend just so happens to be a six-foot tall rabbit. A very well-dressed rabbit, might I add.
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is one of my favorite films as well-of those involving mental illness and not.
Oh, and "Fisher King".
I am quite a fan of horror films as well. All of which, undoubtedly, include a character with some form of mental instability.

In this movie's line I would recomend a book: "Los renglones torcidos de dios"
God's twister lines. If I remember well the author is Torcuato Luca de Tena.
