Hi,
I think I may have Avoidant Personality disorder. I was born deaf since I was 5 years old. Kid at elementary school picked on me all the time and every day. I was so tired of it When I went to high school I had friends and hand out with one of my friend, Denise. We did everything together. When I get together with other "deaf" friends they talk (sign language) and I don't quite get what being said. (some people sign differently then others). After I graduate from high school I have no friends at all. I don't social due 1) I'm deaf 2) I also have depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder. Maybe those combination is part of the issues.
I used to go to meetup with my dog Pug and go to art and craft but now I don't do those things anymore. Possible I have Avoidant Personality disorder?

Nice read, I think I have this disorder along with anxiety issues and low self esteem. Something like this and ptsd as well I scored high on in the test.

The bit about not taking risk for fear of embarrassment and all this is I hate to admit rings a bell. I feel like such a coward and self important.

Hello everybody, I have never been diagnosed (being too avoidant to seek professional help) but I do fit the diagnostic criteria of this PD. Extreme fear of being rejected - I usually don't risk any interaction with others, I am so sure they would tell me to go to hell; I am unable to force myself to socialize unless I can be sure they will accept me; I am hypervigilant all the time and watch out for potential reasons for being criticized; I am always convinced that others dislike me and no matter how hard I try, I am just unfit to be accepted; my life is mostly about trying to cope with the fact that I am not - and never will be - good enough.
