To date:
Lorazepam
Bupropion
Venlafaxine
Lamotrigine
Respiridone
Zolpidem
All of these have been since March 012 and are now discontinued

Currently on
Lithium
Clonazepam
Quetiapine

None of the meds have helped. Ist psych dx bipolar depression anxiety.
Got a second opinion cuz meds were not helping. Dx depression anxiety did not see bipolar. These meds made me feel worse. Made me crave alcohol and think really dark thoughts. Second doc is weaning me off lithium. ANY thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

The Quetiapine is prescribed for Schizophrenia.

The Clonazepam is prescribed for seizures & panic attacks.

Lithium is prescribed for Bipolar Disorder -- depression & mania.

Have you been told that you have Schizophrenia? I was just wondering if the Quetiapine is doing it. It's name is also Seroquel. You might talk to your doctor about the fact that your meds aren't working.

Don't be afraid to talk to him. If they're not working, then they either need to be changed or the doses need to be adjusted.

I hope you get something done about it. Keep us posted. Take care & God bless. Hugs, Lee

I dont have much experience with BP meds- I have only been on 2 myself at this pt. But if you post this down below as a general thread, rather than here on the "success story" thread, I am sure you will get lots of helpful replies from ppl who know what they are talking about.
Thanks for this!

I'm not sure what all the different medicines that are out there, but I do know it is a trial and error thing. Sucks, but it is what it is. So keeping talking to your pdoc so they can help you better.

I am on:

Lamictal (lamotrogine)
Seroquel
Clonazepam

Just started Wellbutrin in addition to above. Everything is working very well. Wife has issues with so many meds (like a cocktail), but my psychiatrist is the only one who has ever given me a proper dx and balanced meds successfully. One doc had me on antidepressant only and I got more and more depressed.

Beginning to be very creative again and pursuing intellectual endeavors. Doing well given my Mom is terminally ill and life with three kids, a new business, and a mildly-supportive spouse.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
