I take my medicine everyday, three times a day, because of my cat. As soon as he hears me rattle the bottles in the bathroom he dashes in and jumps up on the counter and sits by the sink, purring away. He just sits there watching me and purring and meowing occasionally as i count out all the pills, cutting them occasionally. When i go to swallow them all, he rubs against my belly, back and forth, back and forth. He never fails me, and I never fail to take my meds. He's my little motivator, my simple little reason to do something I hate doing everyday.

My cat acts as pest control. The moment she sees an insect she'll track it for ages then eat it when she gets the opportunity.

What a darling story of a good way to take meds. Thanks!

I have two kitties. I keep all my meds in a plastic box on my dining room table. The box has "locks" on both sides, just plastic clamps. I had to do that because the oldest kitty used to like to knock it all over to get attention, so the pill bottles, and all four pill boxes for the week would spill all over the floor and sometimes come open. Hey, not any more! I keep it clamped shut I usually can remember to take them at the right times, but every once in a while, I forget the AM dose and take it at lunch time. I never forget the early AM dose of thyroid med, though, must take an hour before the others.

Yes, sometimes they are a pain to take and sometimes it is a big pain to fill all pill boxes for the week. But they keep us going, don't they?

My cats snuggle up with me at night, but only after I've done the pills, etc
How do they know?

My cats motivate me, too. I have two cats, one (ironically named Buddy, because he truly is my bestest buddy) is really cuddly towards me (and nobody else in this house) and he always brightens my day ,simply by coming to me for a cuddle! The other one (Sugar, who is very sweet and adorable in a variety of ways) motivates me to sleep at night, because she likes to sleep on my feet and I always feel more at ease when I have her with me, it calms me right down. (Buddy is a night owl so he doesn't sleep at night.) Thanks for sharing!
