For those who love BlueInanna's wonderful thread "I took a shower today", this one is for those performing small miracles every day.

If you are overweight and feeling blue, just remember you can do it! And I will be here to support you.

Today was my first official day exercising, as I have flirted with it in the past to no success. But I just wanted to create this thread for those who tried it and accomplished something today.

I only did 10 minutes on the treadmill and 5 minutes of Zumba. It may not seem like much but it was a great accomplishment for me!

Share your exercise stories and challenges here and just post whatever you did, no matter how small!

We can do it!

So, I exercised some more today. It was a short session but I did it! Just need to focus on my diet now. I think I am going to use this thread to track my progress. But its for everyone.

If you guys get up and exercise a little, feel free to post your success here, even if your workout was 10 minutes! Every little bit helps

Awesome!! Good for you! I went for an hour walk yesterday, I wasn't up for it and my aunt had to keep pumping me up. Compared to my 45 minute Zumba classes I was just bored and not pumped up for it, but nonetheless I did it.
With the cold my workout of choice is Zumba, I love it but I still drag my feet to class sometimes, but afterwards I feel great! I make it to class twice a week, but my goal is 3.

I find exercising is easier for me than my diet. I love eating and have a hard time making good choices with my food.

I take medicine for my thyroid so before I started meds I was a size 8, after years of gaining weight I was almost a size 20. That's when I said no more. I started eating out less and trying to do some kind of exercise, it's taken me years but I've lost 50lbs!

I'm stuck at my weight now, but I would be so happy to lose at least 10lbs before summer. I am more comfortable with my weight, but I have a way to go.

For us with BP, exercise is great medicine, I helps our moods and makes a big difference so keep it up!

Good thread! Besides being good for your body, exercise is supposed to help mental stability as well.

My therapist and I set a goal to exercise at least once this week, and once is what I did. Only 15 minutes on a treadmill, but that's 15 minutes more than I've done for quite a while

How's it going for you?

Its going great! I really hate the treadmill, I can only do like 15 minutes on it too. But I can walk in the park for like an hour and a half, like I did today.

The exercising is going better, I stopped for a while since I started this thread, but I started back up again. I have a long way to go, but I will make it!

I like taking walks outside in the winter when it's cool, but it's too darn hot and HUMID here in the summer! Going to try going to the gym at least twice this week. I bring my phone and listen to music. I have a "workout" playlist.

Congrats! I hope you do it! I know it gets hot in the summer here too, I'm gonna have to do something else once it starts getting warmer. I will figure it out. But good luck to you though!

It's not always how much exercise you do, but that you actually did some. You all are making great strides. Keep it up!

Well, not very much, but it's more than I've done recently, so I'm proud of myself for not just sitting there!

I went for a swim yesterday afternoon, despite REALLY not wanting to go. I'm a bit depressed at the moment, and while I normally love exercising, at these moments I just can't find the motivation. I'm not interested in doing anything at all. I only did about 4 laps, which took only a few minutes! The pool was so busy and everybody was stressing me out and I couldn't continue. But even still, I felt so much better afterwards. It really reminded me how important exercise is. Even when we don't want to do it, we have to try to do something, even if it's just little. It really helps. I'm going to try really hard to run outside tonight, even if it's for 10 minutes.

I'm not sure if this message was for me? I'm new to this forum so just working it out. I feel a bit down in general, at present, nothing interests me. But exercising definitely lifts the mood, and I'm going to do it again tonight. I have to try to make it 'non-negotiable' in my head I hope you are ok too.

That's great, sichi-26! Ok, I really need to get moving today, instead of sitting in front of the TV and the computer all day.

Omigosh, congratulations on getting a dog! Pets are wonderful for helping you feel better. And as you've found out, dogs will definitely get you out of the house

I walked my dog for 30 minutes today, in the pouring rain.

I had my rain slicker on, nobody else was out

I felt so very good. So very, very good

Went to a yoga class today! Made it through the entire hour without collapsing.

I feel really grounded.

I'm gonna be sore tomorrow, though!

30 minutes on the elliptical. Nothing near what I used to do, but I keep reminding myself that the journey of 1000 miles begins with one step..
