... is what my psychiatrist said to me today.

And the amazing thing is: I'm feeling well.

It's been two years from my first crisis and I finally have the right combo of meds, I'm working part-time, and I'm sticking to a routine in my down time. These have all been so uplifting for me.

I've realized that life isn't a straight arrow upwards, it's more like a jagged line that is sometimes up, sometimes down. And recovery isn't about being perfect at all the coping skills or doing the schedule 100% every day, is about progress. And that can be slow, but it's still movement and that's all I can ask for.

I also must say the Depression Chat at 9pm Eastern time on Thursday nights has been one of the best places for me to open up about my struggles and find people who understand. Check it out if you have the chance!

This is awesome! I know what you mean about the jagged line, but if the general trend is upward that's a good thing. Progress is what matters. I wish you all the best in continuing your progress.

That's great that things are coming together for you. And you are right it is progress not perfection. I found with the right meds and sticking with a schedule can work wonders.

I'm happy for you. You made good points and I really needed to read something like this today. Progress really isn't a straight line. (((Hugs)))
