I finally got in the shower. Got up early.
because it was a work day and needed to wash my hair. It was really awful looking.
I too have a hard time thinking about how fat I have become.I try to cut back on food but then drink too many calories.
I am drinking anywhere from 4-6 a night even though they are only 100 calories a piece that still adds up.
so I am headed to bed after I do my nightly routine, which takes me 20 minutes or so.That will put me in bed later than I wanted.
my alarm is set for 9 am like usual. Except for shower days then I get up at 8
to be sure that I have enough time. After my shower I can sometimes get back in bed for a bit. I love to sleep. WE have the best blanket it is so snuggly. I had better get going if I can be disciplined then I can get thru my routine.
night all.

I took a shower today!!!! my hair looked so nasty
That I could not wait any longer so I hoped in.
It wasn't too unpleasant,4 days is a record for me. yahoo!
It has been a weekly thing for so long. It had been

forever that I took a shower after 4 days.
It has been for ever since I took maybe I can't keep it up???
Just get up at 8 then go back to bed and snuggle with our Blanket.
Jeff has been walking running for at least 2-3 years I am really proud of him and happy for him.He did it when it was freezing and
when there was light rain.He says I should exercise for balance I have been
clumsy lately. I have fallen hard 3 times the year. One time it took out my right knee. then another time I was at an assisted living place that I tripped on the carpet and went down the there was the curb incident it was taller than I was accustomed to, I fell up the stair. There was an incident at a clients house where I trip over my stool because because I was carrying a bunch of towels that I had done with and I was taking them to the laundry room. I did not see my stool and fell right in front of it. The towels broke my fall. So I was grateful for that.

likewise, I like it got enough so it feels that it's hot, but I try to finish it off with cool water, especially if I have washed my hair. It is good for the hair to finish off cool. I do not normally go the coldest, just cool enough.

On Wednesday night, at my hairdresser's, there was no hot water. She washed my hair in cold water. It was actually a lot of fun.

I am back on the thread, this time with the goal to take temperature contrastive showers, alternating between hot and cold and back.

Today after swimming I took a quick hot shower, followed by a cool shower. I decided that for this time it was enough, even though my overarching goal is to get to several cycles of hot and cold alternation.

I did not put water on my head today.

I am sorry I don't see a reason to take alternating hot cool showers.
You did not wash your hair so there was no closing of the pores hair follicles.
just curious.

For hair wash, yes, the hairdresser recommends just finishing with cool water to close those pores off.

For overall contrastive showers, if you can manage alternating, it gives an immense satisfaction, probably due to adrenaline and endorphine, and trains the vasculature (as the blood vessels respond in opposite directions to hot and cold). It is also believed to improve stress response and immune response. I have also read that it helps with the surface skin cell turnover but have not verified it.

@bizi
here is more information with quotes from doctors (a cardiologist and somebody else), on the benefits of contrastive showers. Can you try accessing this link and using the browser's translator service to read it in English?

I went there and read some of it.
lots of contraindications. If you like it and with your md's permission,
go for it.
I HATE cold water so this is not for me.
you could not drag me into a cold shower.
Hell I have to make myself get into the shower in the first place.

Apparently hot showers in the evening can improve sleep quality because they cause the body temp to fall in the aftermath of the shower.

After swimming g, I took a short hot shower with conditioning my hair and then switched the water to cold and stood bend over backwards (literally speaking) such that only my head was under the stream of cold water. Made myself stand like this longer, counting slowly to 30. Afterwards, felt wonderfully refreshed.
