My bipolar success story is this:
I got a message at my apartment that I had to move by January. This was back in July or maybe June. I looked and looked and looked for places that would take section 8. Well, that is, a one-bedroom apartment that would take section 8. Those were far and few between. I looked for ages- weeks, maybe over a month!- and still could find nothing , until my mom asked her neighbor who works for an apartment complex or two. He gave me the names of several complexes he's associated with. I called one and paid $20 for an application fee and applied. To my surprise, I was accepted! I then spent the next month, getting the fine details worked out about moving from my old place- intent to vacate paperwork- and all the details about moving in to the new place. My moving day got backed up until Friday when it was originally on Thursday. But it worked out because we found movers who were cheaper than the ones we had initially hired who could move us on Friday. (The first place said their next available opening was Tuesday.) So on Friday, it was a nice sunny October day and moving was a breeze! The movers moved everything out and then everything in in record time. And my aunt and mom helped me unpack 90% of my stuff right then! Today is my fourth day in the new place and I'm loving the shower, the balcony, the bedroom... Just everything. I'm loving having my tv in the living room. It was in the bedroom at my old place because my daughter lived with me and she always was watching the downstairs tv. I'm loving my new lamp which has 5 arms with differently colored shades - one on each. I've had a couple friends over already. One who helped me move, and one who just came over for 10 minutes to see the place. So basically, I went from living somewhere for 3 1/2 years and then being told I had to move out in six months, to living in an apartment I love, so far. All the hard work paid off! I'm still surprised when I wake up here, instead of at the old place. __________________ Wellbutrin XL 300 mg Loxapine 50mg Ingrezza 80 mg Ativan .5 mg 2x/day Propranolol 20 mg 2x/day Mania (December 2023) Mixed episode/Hypomania (September 2023) Depression, Anxiety and Intrusive thoughts (September 2021) Depression & Psychosis (July/August 2021) Mania (April/May 2019) |
