Bipolar success- eight years on. I'm tempted to put success in quotation marks, but I don't want to give you the impression I haven't had success. I have not had either a depressive or a hypomanic episode since 2014.

Meanwhile life has rolled on, as I've held on and learned to live a more normal life. And I have been, warts and all. Biggest warts right now are my physical health as well as my wife's, and the money concerns that are becoming scarier and scarier. (We're both retired now.)

But that is life just rolling on, and I've remained stable in the face of everything. If you all have some good energy to send my wife's way, I would sure be grateful. The pandemic took a heavy toll on her mental health, and she hasn't yet succeeded in shaking a deep depression.

One of the things I'm learning during my normality childhood is that it's not all about me. That's a great feeling, but it's also pretty intimidating.

Anyway, I came back to the forums partially out of curiosity, but mostly I guess as part of an effort to make it about others as well. So everyone, old and new.

I hear you. I too have been stable for a number of years on my current meds. But they therapy I had before was certainly a factor that has helped.

Congratulations

Best wishes to your wife that she find stability too.

Thanks so much, both of you, for your kind words. It's great to be back here. And, good karma or not, my wife finally filled out and sent in paperwork for her retirement fund. A huge relief to both of us, and a big step for her. I went out grocery shopping and when I came home she proudly announced that she had done three (money-related) things in my absence. Blessed be.
