I finally got put on the right combo of meds, and I haven't had an episode in over 12 years.

Congratulations! That's amazing. I can't imagine even one year.

I am a new med and my old mood stabilizer plus one pill which doubles as high blood pressure and mood swings. This is the best combination I have ever had. I take the new medication once a day with food and I take the blood pressure pill four times a day and my mood stabilizer twice a day. This helps with anxiety and depression and mood swings; however, it is not that much different than my old ones yet i am more mellow than with the old med combination I take two less pills and with less food. It’s working after 3 months. My mood is better than the dosage and older medication. These medications are for bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders. My wife said that I am calmer than before although I fell and broke three ribs. Two ribs in two places;; I am home now from the hospital and under doctors care and I have started PT soon OT. It’s going to be a long time before I can walk without pain. I take Acetaminophen and I have two types of pain patches that are strong. My doctor said he preferred me to take an oral narcotic and I will admit my pain is severe. Hopefully, I have fought the oral narcotic and I have won. I don’t want to go back there again. I would rather take the minimum. The minimum is bad enough with one patch I wish I didn’t have to take, but I must have something for extreme pain and I don’t know how Lidocaine alone would help. I do have the Dr recommended strength Lidocaine’s but it alone would not be enough. I admit that it might be minimal care. Yet, I do not want to fight another 5 years of pain with addiction and I know at some point it quits working. My bipolar disorder is under control and my wife tells me I have the best mood management I have ever had, the combination of antipsychotic and mood stabilizer is the best I can remember and I know I can afford to stay away from the most difficult and addictive medication and my mood swings are under the with my depression and anxiety under control. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis which we treat with my pain specialist applying Radio Frequency Ablation therapy to my neck and lower back. This actually helps me with my broken ribs because it helps with my lower back pain and my upper cervical spine pain. I think I have chosen the right combination for me and everything is approved by my psychiatrist. I will check with him in about 5 weeks and I have an appointment with my primary provider, a man skilled in geriatrics. I am 72 and I use a walker which I feel secure with. I have a solution and I will check in with my therapist in 6 weeks i have many people who are interested in helping me. I am concerned about healing with my 6 breaks in my ribs. If I were to have surgery on the ribs, I would agree with that solution. At the hospital, I was advised that I don’t need surgery for my 3 ribs with 5 breaks. At PT we are working on core strength. I am losing weight and again I can feel my mind under control! My mental issues illness is not the problem. Rather it is my ribs and doctors at the hospital said that key is muscle strength in my core strength especially the muscle strength between my ribs. So I am losing weight and exercise with breathing exercises to avoid pneumonia which would drastically increase difficulty with my muscles and my ribs. In terms of my mental health I am using the right combination of medication for my bipolar disorder. One more drug helps with arthritis pain. I do take a very strong biological injection and I can feel it helping my Ankylosing Spondylitis. All conditions are helpful for my bipolar disorder.
