I started taking 25 mg of Lamictal two days ago and I've been sooo tired. Now today I feel achy and have a sore throat. I haven't been sick for quite awhile. When reading about side effects it says to tell your doctor if you get flu-like symptoms. I guess I have to stop taking it and see if my symptoms go away. I really didn't expect to feel crappy from this med/thought it was well-tolerated. Oh well.

To my knowledge, Lamictal is usually well tolerated. Since your new to it and are having odd symptoms, can you speak with your pdoc before you stop taking it?

I have definitely experienced flu-like symptoms with many meds, but Lamictal wasn't one of them. I was on Abilify for a month and just stopped taking it last night...couldn't take another day of feeling sick and exhausted.

Be sure you do not also have a rash somewhere.

Defiantly hold the Lamictal until you get in touch with your Pdoc, of course tomorrow is Friday, I’d call first thing in the AM.

It could just be a total coincidence, but it’s possible your dealing with one of the possible side effects that might prevent you from continuing it.

As mentioned make sure you don’t have a rash starting.

I had a flu-like illness before my lamictal SJS. Of course, you also have a sore throat, so... Don't want to freak you out, but please do be sure your skin and mouth are okay.

Thank you! I stopped taking it and feel better. Too bad--I had high hopes for it.
