Have not personally, but I would. The antidepressant effect in a large meta-analysis of multiple studies published in the Journal of Affective Disorders in 2018 was quite large. It definitely works in a lot of people. More research is needed to determine how best to use it, but it works.

While I'm not a doctor, I can't help but feel concerned. It is an antibiotic as you said, which makes me wonder... what happens if you have an infection? (e.g., you get a large wound or maybe you get a cold like bacterial bronchitis.) How will that affect the efficacy of antibiotics in the long term when you end up with an infection? Everyone gets at least one infection during their lifetime, and sometimes they are bad. You don't want to put yourself at risk for not being able to treat an infection in the future.

Not trying to scare you or anything, but I think you should get a second opinion on that just to be safe. You don't want to limit yourself in terms of which antibiotics you can take. Plus, antibiotics can create superbugs.

I've read a little bit about minocycline treatment for bipolar depression. I'm not saying no way, but if I were you I would definitely get a second opinion.
