I may not have insurance or access pdoc for 3-6 months while moving. I can't afford thousands of dollars on meds for that time. I may or may not even have a permanent address. And maybe hopping state to state for a little. While we find a place.
Should I change my meds now to ones I can afford off insurance that don't work as well for me? __________________ Dx: Me- SzA Husband- Bipolar 1 Daughter- mood disorder+ Comfortable broken and happy "So I don't know why I'm tongue tied At the wrong time when I need this."- P!nk My blog |

What about having your current pdoc prescribe 3 months worth?

I won't be able to pay for those meds even if he prescribes them. My medical will only pay month by month. I can have him write 2 90 day supplies.

Maybe check out forums like RVLife to see how other people handle the situation? Prescriptions arent usually valid from state to state, as drs are licensed by state.

There has to be some kind of provision for extending the time of insurance paying for prescriptions. It may mean some extra work on the part of your pdoc, but so be it. For example, when I've traveled out of the US I was able to have extra meds filled. I wonder if @Soupe du jour has any ideas?

Check into Canadian pharmacies. We are going to be getting one of Steve’s medications through it. Much cheaper and they will do 90 days with a script from his pulmonary Doctor with his insurance it’s over 300 per month. Found it on pharmstore.com for 69.99 for 3 months.
Maybe Pdoc will give you 90 day scripts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

I know people who are on expensive medications who have been able to apply to the drug companies to get the medications free. I believe you will need to prove you can't afford the medication and the doctor has to certify that you need it.

My pharmacy is trying to work it out to be ~$100. I'm still trying to get my pdoc to switch me off the injection as I will not be able to get that. Even if I have to borrow it. I was going to change my meds but I have not been to the hospital since on this combo and I really can't afford a hospital bill. I'm going to try to get him to write a 90 day script.
