So I'm on 2 AP's (one injection, one pill) and an AD. I played phone tag with him last week and never talked to him. I don't feel he can help me anyway. Especially since I move in less then a month. I don't want to change medication unless I have too. I'd rather wait until we land in our new state but that could be December or later then the wait time for a psychiatrist. Or it could be as early as November. So I'm looking at March before seeing a real psychiatrist or NP. Until then I'll have to survive on refills. But I don't know if I can deal with these little annoyances until March. T wants me to have an appointment with a center before I leave. I'm like halfway through the month from my injection. I'm generally not a danger to myself but sometimes I want to SH to stay grounded in reality. Then there's the thoughts of destructive ways to deal with this or if I just took my anxiety medication I won't be as scared when I feel or think things that aren't real. I'm not good at talking to pdoc.

I'm sorry you are in this situation. Wish I knew how to help but sadly I don't know what I would do if I was in your shoes. Hopefully other members here with more knowledge, experience and insight will see your post and respond to it with something truly helpful. The situation you are in sounds scary and would distress me greatly.

Yaowen, thank you I know it'll work out in the end but it's stressful now.

It might be easier if you switch to the pill form of the LAI while you move, that way you don't have to worry about finding someone to administer it. There's always crisis lines and ER rooms if it comes to that, they're typically pretty good about helping people find resources if they don't have them yet (not saying they're always good NPs/pdocs, but it's typically better than nothing).

I'm going to try switching to pill form. I don't have an appointment until after I move out of state.

I wish I could help. In my personal experience, in this particular area, I have not found pdocs to be helpful, or even to want to be helpful. I know many others who feel the same (they don't post here, they have been silenced by ''people''irl who relentlessly dismiss and invalidate their real experiences.

I'm sorry about the rant.

They're giving me my shot early but I don't think I'll see pdoc before I move. which means I have to ration out my meds even more then planned. Everything is just going to hell.

Hi Miguel'sMom. I also think the pill form might be a good option. I don't know what your doctor is willing and able to do, or what your insurance company allows, but I could usually get 5 refills in a pop for most of my medications, other than maybe some controlled substances, which I don't see on your list. That would get you to March for at least some, if not all, of your medications.

If at all possible, try to book an appointment with a psychiatrist asap at your new home location. Even if you go to them once and don't like them at least you have one in the meantime, and could switch soon afterwards. And of course the ER is a last resort option. Many of people have used it for situations such as yours, when a move of home is a factor. That need not mean an inpatient stay, though I think when ER doctors prescribe in such cases they only give a brief supply. Truly, it shouldn't have to come to that unless you do become sick. Becoming sick is NOT an inevitability. It wasn't for me.

I talked to a pdoc yesterday. He gave me a 3 month supply but I have to start it in 2 weeks so I'll have 2.5 months to find a dr. or 3 months from yesterday. Hud isn't done with everything and we have to vacate in 3 weeks. So I'm trying to find a place anywhere in the state to see a pdoc. because we don't know where we are landing. I'm not changing states until we have a place. There's so much up in the air.
