My friend just read me an ad for this new drug for bipolar depression and it seems to have every side effect known to man. Anybody heard of Caplyta?

I've seen commercials for it on TV, but sadly don't know really anything about it. Hopefully people who take this med will see your post and respond to it kindly and helpfully!

You have an excellent memory!

@Moose72

Yes, I was on Caplyta. It's a new med for bipolar depression and it's supposed to help with intrusive thoughts. I didn't stay on it, only because it didn't help lift my depression. Keep in mind that any medication, even otc meds, has a 100 potentially creepy side effects. Remember that if even 1 person on the med has something go wrong that thing has to be reported. Is Caplyta the new med you're taking? I'm excited for you! I think it may be a really good med for you.

I don't know what the name of the new drug is as pdoc wants to hold off on starting it and I forget what she said it's called. My friend Caleb saw a commercial for Caplyta on tv. And he read all the side effects to me. Sounds like every side effect that all the other brain drugs have, but it's very possible Caplyta is what pdoc wants to prescribe. So far I'm a week off Haldol and no issues.

I tried it, but it didn't work. Gave me dizziness when standing and increased body temperature. It was tolerable after the first 3 days (headaches). Hated the dizziness though. I took a hot bath, which is a no no, and thought I was going to faint. But, you know, side effects are very individual. You may have a better experience.

I tried it...I felt great. So great I flew into full-blown mania within a few days and after that psychosis winding me with a 10 day psych hospital stay. I remember feeling very motivated in the beginning, but too bad things went south.
