Took my Seroquel XR going on six hours ago... still can't get to sleep. Starting to stress out about it. Don't want to tell the boyfriend... quite frankly, he's been an insensitive _________________ (fill in the blank with whatever explitive you'd like). No one is on call at the clinic I go to.... I think that I'll call my case manager in the morning. The prescription was old school Seroquel for 4 nights... 50, 100, 200 and 300 in that order, and then last night was my first night on the XR... I took it at 7 (I was told to take it between 6&7). Last night, I couldn't get to sleep til 3 a.m. and tonight, who the hell knows? The 50 knocked me out, as did the 200. Part of me is worried that I'm pulling out of the depression part a little too well... I do not want to go manic. While it's preferable to being depressed, it is still a pain in the backside. It's starting to remind me of the time they put me on an anti-depressant and nothing to balance the moods... I got a tad out of control... luckily I was in an out patient treatment class for mood disorders, and they caught on pretty damn fast. I'm babbling. Any suggestions?

Don't really have a suggestion except wait till tomorrow to talk to your doc. I fell asleep exhausted at 7:30 and here I am up at midnight ready for the new day. Crazy I tell you. I take ativan to sleep. I haven't taken any tonight though. I have seroquel too.
Try to relax and do something calming. Good Luck! Helene |

I would call the doc in the morning and explain just like you did to us. It is so frustrating finding the right meds, isn't it?

Gosh, I would hope the seroquel would do it but I guess it did not. Call the doctor and speak with someone on the exchange if they have someone to talk to and stress that you need to get in touch with the doctor ASAP. Rather, he needs to call you back ASAP. How about a nice warm bubble bath for relaxation, a boring book to calm your mind down, but no activity as that will keep you up. How about some soothing music?>??

Sleep is so elusive, isn't it?
I agree, you should talk to your doc ASAP and explain your concerns and that you are feeling like you are moving toward a drug induced mania. Hopefully they can get you regulated out so you can catch some ZZZ's. Sleep deprivation is the pits! |

I just got the call in... I didn't fall asleep til sometime after 3 AGAIN and I slept for 8 hours... its like I'm getting my sleep, there's just no telling when I'll go down. I gotta get this under control... I need to get a job. I'm running out of food, my food stamps got denied and I'm appealing. I can't ask my mom for help... she paid to have my starter in my Jeep replaced. I'm at my wits end. The "boyfriend" is no help, either... he just piles on the stress. UGH
