I heard Lexapro takes a few weeks to work, and 6-8 weeks to work well. Ask your doc though, I am no expert

I've been taking lexapro for well over a year. It takes quite a while to work and at first it actually made my depression quite a bit worse and didn't help much until they added other meds to go along with it. Of course it is different for everyone but I wish you the best of luck with it. I take 20mg a day but it doesn't seem to help. Good luck .

I think it takes a good four plus weeks to work. Hang in there!

I have been taking it for 5 years and it has helped a lot. Helps with anxiety, too. Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

I am feeling better, more energetic, I can actually make it through the day without napping and feeling guilty. Although I am not sure if it is the lexapro or the ritalin..lol thanks for all the input , Jen
