Hi all - I used to be on here all the time, it's been a while. Things have been going really well over the past year or so. Recently (within the past month) a lot of changes have occurred.... two of those changes are that I cut back A LOT on the drinking, and also I've quit smoking.

I was getting anxiety attacks at first, and my pdoc prescribed me Xanax (a small rx because of my tendency towards addiction) to keep me calm until the Zoloft kicks in, which she increased from 100mg to 150mg.

Now that the anxiety is under control (I think???), I've gone into a depression. One of those where I stay in bed all day. I can get work done from home (actually more than I can get done at the office, it seems... fewer distractions), but I hate staying in bed like this.... just can't bring myself to do it.

Sooooo in addition to the overeating and weight gain, I'm feeling pretty down these days. I can't get an appt until the end of the month, so I was hoping maybe someone would have some insight. I do think that quitting smoking is one of the major triggers of this hypomania leading to depression.

Aw lordy this bipolar is a real pain in the ***** I tell you.

Any advice?

Thank you all,

RK

Do you go for walks during the day? Catch an evening movie on occasion, for distraction and to enjoy. I wish you the best!
