I am currently on 1200mg of Seroquil.

I am definitely sedated. But I still have hypomanic afternoons 2 or 3 times a week. They go away when I take my seroquil and the next day i feel depressed.
I take the seroquil in the afternoons so I will fall asleep by 7 or 8pm, so I can be up by 5 or 6am. But I still have lots of nightmares and/or vivid dreams that wake me up several times during the night.

If I don't drink coffee, I am back in bed and asleep for a few hours around 7 or 7:30am to 9 or 10am.

Today, as I read the bipolar threds, I Definitely feel sedated. I can remember that if I stopped taking the Seroquil I would go into mania and the thought is very, very seductive.
I would be jittery, full of energy, jumpy, racing thoughts, speeded up, possibly psychotic symptoms, euphoria, elation, walking on air...possibly irritable...like i was before when i stopped taking it.

But for good or for bad--I would be ALIVE!!!!

So should I? Should I stop taking my seroquil??????

Don't ask me. I went off of a low dose (25-75mg per night for sleep) and I've been up for 15 days with broken or little sleep. I really need some soon. I told everyone not to let me go on and on like this if I didn't sleep last night, but I'm starting to accept that 5-6 hours of sleep is the new normal for me.

I want to sleep, but I don't want to feel weak and tired the next day and have food taste bland and feel numb. That's what SQ does to me.

What else are you on? Is it really so bad to be hypomanic? If you're drugged all day, that's not a good sign. I'd ask your doc for an adjustment on your dose in the downward direction or perhaps you need to be on something different altogether.
