I have had bi polar and other issues for a very long time. Recently I cannot remember things. If someone brings it up to me I will most of the time, sometimes not. On my own though I can't remember much of waht happened the day before. I wake up and someone tells me and I am like oh I did that or I remember after seeing the cut on my legs. It is so annoying and I don't know why this is happening.

Hey there Pooty!

You're not crazy, just bipolar! And, other stuff. I haven't read too many of your other posts but cognitive problems can be due to a lot of things. Too much medicine, too little medicine, using drugs or alcohol, taking opiates, it just depends upon what's going on. The best thing to do is ask your pdoc. There are just too many possibilities.

I think I am crazy!

((((((((((pooty)))))))))))) welcome to my life lol! Seriously though you're not crazy! It could be many problems but it could also just be that you're distracted right now, I know you're going through a lot right now and it could just be distracting you... Still talk to your doctor and YOU'RE NOT CRAZY!!! I hope you're well!!!

Craziness is a word that carries a certain amount of stigma, and even those of us who suffer from mental illness don't want to be associated with it. You have to learn to accept the illness, live with it, and if possible kick that ugly word out of your vocabulary.

As someone who's been hospitalized twice, I've just found great people in mental institutions. There was this woman who clearly suffered from schizophrenia, but you should have heard how she played the piano. Or another girl that was constantly writing poems and said she was looking for an editor, as she had over three hundred of them. Or this other guy that would kick everybody's *** playing ping pong. Sure, we all had our problems, but I would apply the adjective crazy to other people outside the hospital rather than to them, because for normal people their behavior is theirs to blame, not because it is caused by structural problems in their brain.

Memory problems and concentration are a huge problem with this illness. I know I am struggling with exactly the same thing. People tell me entire conversations I've had and forgot. It's frustrating. My T says it will probably get beter with time. I guess hang in there and hopefully it'll come around, but I wouldn't say you're crazy!
Thanks for this!
