Here goes:

Presently, I take 1500 mg Depakote, 600 mg Lithium, 60 mg Cymbalta, and 50 mg Lamictal.

I have Bipolar 1 disorder, OCD (intrusive thoughts, they are aggressive and sexual in nature), and anxiety. When I am slightly manic, my intrusive thoughts and anxiety disappear. However, being Bipolar 1, it is imperative that my psychiatrist must reign my mood in to a normal state. Unfortunately, when she does this my thoughts and/or anxiety return. We have noticed this pattern now many times. When I question my doctor about this, she says it is just my individual pattern of illness. But I don't accept this.

Thus, I have tried to contact bi-polar experts around the country to see if they have insights upon the pattern I have discussed above. One such doctor said my pattern was not that uncommon. Most docs said they couldn't help me because I wasn't their patient. Hence, I now have decided to turn to my fellow sufferers.

I ask you: Do you suffer from a similar pattern? What have you learned from such a pattern? Had particular drug combos worked for you such that you could have a normal mood and thus not suffer from your secondary symptoms such OCD and/or anxiety? Any relevant info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
