Honestly friends.... I need some energy... I need to know that I'm not a lazy person. I am totally drained all the time and I'm so frustruated!!!!! I am sick of feeling like I'm lugging around a piano on my back. This is dreadful but I know I need to remember that it may get a little better when this depression lifts... in the mean time it's really rediculous. I am SOOO sick of this !!!!!!! GRRRRRR....

Don't need a response to this, just needed to vent. Thanks!!!!

Me too. My husband started calling me a hypochondriac today, but honestly, I have been so tired for so long I hardly know how it is to not feel tired. And then II felt like I was going to get sick all over the second hand store today, and with chasing after my youngest.... I still feel pukey! I sympathise with you completely, Gravvy. Time to start feeling better.
Thanks for this!

It may be a lithium side effect....When I was off Lithium in October I felt more awake than I have been in a long time. When I restarted Lithium, the exhaustion came back. Others noticed the change they assumed my baby had been keeping me up all night.

Of course depression always makes the tiredness worse....;P

Hope you feel better soon.

My meds provider has given me a script for Provigil--due to excessive daytime sleepiness (side effect from meds for bipolar 1). Been on it about 18 yrs. Could not function without it...

Fell asleep driving before on Provigil.

She DID have to fight w/ins. co. to get it covered as it is allowed for sleep apnea (she was using it off-label for me), but she provided documents from scientific journals from those many yrs. ago & convinced them it would be beneficial for my bipolar treatment. In the process of being approved by FDA for bipolar now. It is very expensive (so what else is new?). I NEEDED to have my insurance cover the cost of the Provigil.

As I said, I could not function without it...

Thank goodness for psychiatric nurse practitioners who spend the time w/you & are wiling to go to bat for you....

Went to a DBSA support group meeting tonight.

Should shut up & go to bed!!
Thanks for this!

I'm tired too, constantly I have no motivation anymore for anything at all. If you figure out the answer, please, please share it with me. I need something.

I don't want to recommend people take more meds--but Provigil has been essential for me to function. I was just so wiped out on every medication for bipolar & that is not an acceptable quality of life for me--to be SO TIRED that it is painful to try to stay awake.

With Provigil I just feel "normal"--enthusiastic, energetic, etc.

Been on it for many yrs. w/no need to increase dosage--not "addictive."

Very expensive, though, so if insurance didn't cover it, I couldn't afford it.
Thanks for this!

Well again, thank you to everyone for your suggestions and words of encouragement. I am hypomanic as ever today. I did make it until tomorrow though which is my appt with the new pdoc so please, please be sending out warm thoughts for that appt. I need him to be patient, listen, and know his meds... shouldn't be too much to ask!!!!
