That is what we tell our kids and the signs going down the road. Right? Then you show up at the pdoc office and that's all they say... what drugs are you on... here are some more or well lets trash that plan start all new drugs or just change the the doses all around. This is how they stay in business cuz if you aren't crazy going into the office you will be coming out.
Yes, I had an appointment today. Guess what drug changes all around. I really liked my pdoc but I had been trying to get into this one because, she dose everything. My 1st pdoc really thought we would be a good match. I think he likes more crazy than me anyway. Just wish I could have came out off her office with a cure not this is what we will do for this week then......blahblahblah What do any of you have to say about Abilify? ![]() |

At this point in time there is no cure for mental illness. The best we can get is meds to reduce our symptoms to a tolerable level.
I don't think I have ever used Abilify. Is that a new med for you?

"That is what we tell our kids and the signs going down the road". Of course we tell kids not to take illegal drugs. If the thought of taking "drugs" bothers you, then remember it is actually "medicine" not drugs like the signs say.

I am a total believer in taking the right meds but everyone is different so it does take trying different things until you find what works for you. Once you do, you will feel so much better. We recently had to tweak my meds since what I had been on so long stopped working for me (longer bad times and more often). Now I feel good again with few dark times. I encourage you to keep on working at it. It will be worth it.

My advice is just to remember that the doctor is changing medicine to find the best combination for you with the least amount of side effects. I take Abilify and it works really well. I have been on 10 mg for 2 years and have had no symptoms of mania or depression. They started me on 20 mg but then lowered it to 15 mg and then 10 mg because it was too much for me. It took a year and a half to get me fully stable, but it does eventually happen. It takes longer for some than others. Hope all goes well on your new medicine.
